Our Story

Welcome to the Mankato NSBE Chapter! We are a student-run chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers, committed to empowering aspiring Black engineers, scientists, and technologists on our campus and in our community.

Our chapter provides academic support, leadership opportunities, career development, and a strong community for Black students in STEM. We host workshops, networking events, mentorship programs, and more to help members thrive inside and outside the classroom.

Our Mission

To increase the number of culturally responsible black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community.

Our Vision

We envision a world in which engineering is a mainstream word in homes and communities of color, and all Black students can envision themselves as engineers. In this world, Black people exceed parity in entering engineering fields, earning degrees, and succeeding professionally.
